On Adonai-pneumatology and Christus-pneumatology, Part I

Let us propose a distinction between Christus-pneumatological action and Adonai-pneumatological action. In addition, let us propose that the human being is tripartite, being made up of body, intellect, and soul.

Furthermore, let us say that the body is made up of two kinds of material, the corrupt sarkos and a celestial flesh. Given the utter corruption of the human, let us also say that the soul is bifurcated: it is prosopon and anima. The former is the mask placed over the soul, which obscures its native clarity, and the latter the élan vital that provokes the soul to action. The formation of the prosopon is the work of the Satan. The prosopon is the principle that grounds duplicity and self-deception. So long as the soul wears the mask, it is bound by evil. In a word, the anima is enslaved to the prosopon.

Reader, please observe that a theology of the mask, derived from the iconographic theologies of the East, has been reflected on elsewhere.

  1. Reed Here says:

Are you a follower of the ancient Cainite tradition?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cainites

    • We hear this teaching, “Where there is the carcass, so there the eagles will gather.” (Matthew 24:28)

This is not the teaching of the Saul, but speaks of the flesh of Lupus-Cain. And what is the flesh of Lupus-Cain? The flesh of Lupus-Cain reeks with the stench of death and corruption, yet it is life-giving for mighty creatures. What a mystery!

As you will see in our writings, Lupus-Cain longs to be transfigured like unto the phantasm of Samuel that was called forward before First Saul. (And the heart of First Saul was made glad.) Lupus-Cain entertains evil images of lesser forms during the daylight and contemplates visions of pleasant, higher forms by night. He stands transfixed at every moment according to his corruption. This is the basic inclination of the human.

      • Reed Here says:

And that answers my question how? Maybe you might give me a straight reply? Thanks.

      • Reed Here says:

So I guess that would be a “yes, but I’m not going to tell you straight up because I’m not going to reveal my secret knowledge to a base, perverse one.”

Thanks for the fun James. If you ever want to talk about the real Jesus, I sincerely would love to do so. In the meantime, what you call light is actually the worse form of darkness the world has ever seen. I pray for your liberation.

      • We do not consider anyone created in the image and likeness of YHWH to be “base and perverse” in a reductionist sense. However, we do understand all of humanity to be corrupted in the outer-flesh, wasting away day by day (per Propositions 5-6 as stated below by Johannes), standing condemned in accordance with the habitual sin and willful rebellion of their Cainite humanity. And this is our judgment, “The light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.” (John 3:19)

Accordingly, we deny that light wars with darkness. There is one light, the Father of heavenly lights, who scatters all darkness according to the diverse divine gifts distributed in the created things. As it is written, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5) To quote Proposition 8 as stated by Johannes, “The authors of Lupus-Cain seek to fashion and articulate a truly Christian ethic that distinguishes properly between the adamic and the cainite within the historical person, and allows one to act accordingly, taking special caution to fulfill all righteousness (spiritual things) according to Adam-Christ, while reserving all wickedness (fleshly things) according to Lupus-Cain.”

We sincerely hope you continue to interact with our teaching and interpretations.

  2. Johannes Anti-Hominem says:

SEVEN CLARIFYING PROPOSITIONS REGARDING THE AUTHORS OF LUPUS-CAIN

    1) We hold firmly to all seven ecumenical councils, and thus to the apostolic and catholic faith of Yeshua, the Christos/Messiah.

    2) We unambiguously and wholeheartedly condemn those who speak of Cain as the “victim of YHWH” and call for further discussion on the matter, asking the Spirit to guide us into all truth.

    3) We hold firmly to a Chalcedonian two-natures, one hypostasis Christology. Where we diverge from some, more fleshly-minded, Christians is in our recognition of the two-fold flesh of man.

    4) Our anthropology recognizes that man can be spoken of in two ways: either according to a tripartite anthropology, or according to the inner/outer distinction.

    5) When man is viewed as most basically a tripartite being, we affirm that he is composed of a soul, a spirit, and a body (or “flesh”).

    5) When man is viewed according to the inner/outer distinction, we affirm that the outer flesh, which (fleshly) eye can see, and (fleshly) hand can touch, is wasting away, while a (spiritual) battle is being waged within inner man.

    6) We believe that a distinction must be made between two aspects of inner man: his Adamic humanity (natural human essence; that which is created after the image and likeness of YHWH) and his Cainite humanity (that which is damaged by habitual sin and willful corruption).

    7) When Yeshua, the Christos/Messiah, takes on humanity perfectly, he takes on both the Adamic and the Cainite humanity. As the New Adam, he restores Adamic humanity (through the mediation of the Spirit) to its prelapsarian condition. However, the Cainite humanity remains untouched, unjustified, and unsanctified. Why does the Christos not save the entire man? The answer requires close attention to the narrative of Genesis. YHWH had placed a mark on our father Cain’s forehead. Whosever molests him will suffer sevenfold vengeance. Thus, the divine Word, while fully divinizing Adamic humanity, is not permitted–because of an eternal covenant intrinsic to the triune Godhead–to touch Cain at all.

8 ) The authors of Lupus-Cain seek to fashion and articulate a truly Christian ethic that distinguishes properly between the adamic and the cainite within the historical person, and allows one to act accordingly, taking special caution to fulfill all righteousness (spiritual things) according to Adam-Christ, while reserving all wickedness (fleshly things) according to Lupus-Cain.

  3. Reed Here says:

So where have you learned this stuff? Who has discipled you? What is your church background? Why are you writing with nom de plumes?

    • Our reflections occur at the confluence of three streams: the doctrine formulated at the seven ecumenical councils regarding Yeshuah, the Christos-Messiah; direct readings of the Christian scriptures; and a particular theological anthropology derived from gentle readings of the Book of Genesis.

We affirm the catholic and apostolic faith and are disciples of diverse channels of the Reformed tradition.

  4. Reed Here says:

James, Johannes: you still haven’t answered my questions in a straightforward, unequivocating manner. You’re writing smacks of the thought-concepts of ancient gnosticism. You appear to teach, to be sure an updated form, of nothing more than the dualistic matter vs. spirit scheme that originated in Zoarastrianism, then was picked up by the Ancient Mystery religions, then syncretized with Christianity by the Gnostic (supposed) Chrisitans.

You say you affirm the Seven Ecumenical Councils. Might I ask a simple question? Do you affirm the Chalcedonian formulation of the Trinity?

  5. It is our opinion that we are not advancing a neo-gnosticism. This is clearly evidenced in our writing. However, we do hold that through the employment of proper theological distinctions, and the exercise of sober judgment and interpretation, one can come to know something of a vast catalog of spiritual secrets.

We affirm the Chalcedonian teaching on the two natures of the Christos-Messiah.

    • Reed Here says:

How about the Nicene Creed on the Holy Spirit?

What reformed sources instruct you in your formulations?

      What is your church affiliation?

    • Reed Here says:

Are you guys royalty over some kingdom somewhere? Why do you use the firs person plural all the time? Are you both speaking for one another? Are there actually two of you? Do you have a church home?

      Why the secrecy?

      • We do not rule or reign over an earthly kingdom. Ours is an eschatological kingdom, subjected to the rule of the Christos-Messiah. For as it is written, “And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5)

  6. Johannes Anti-Hominem says:

    1) We believe in the Holy Ghost, the Dove (yonah), the Lord and Giver of Life; Who proceeds from the Father and the Son; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spoke by the prophets, the law, and the “writings.”

Chalcedonian orthodoxy neither adds nor takes away from what was affirmed at Nicaea and Constantinople.

    2) We recommend in particular the Institutes of John Calvin (1559), and the so-called Consensus Tigurinus (1549), fashioned in part by Calvin, and by Heinrich Bullinger. For your edification, we especially commend the latter work to you.

    3) Our home is within the church of Yeshua the Messiah. His church–in both its visible and invisible forms–has been called, gathered, and sent by the Holy Ghost, the Dove, yonah. It is knit together by an eros-love mediated by the trans-temporal, trans-spatial Spirit of the Christos-Messiah, that same Holy Ghost which doth war against the inner Lupus.

    4) As our savior has taught, and continues to teach us, “Be ye wise as serpents; harmless as doves.” A nom de plume, when used properly, serves not to mask authorship, but rather to mitigate against divers temptations of pride, which goeth before the Fall.

    • Reed Here says:

These responses are disingenuous and evasive. Why can you not answer straightforwardly? What are you hiding?

I recommend to you as well Calvin’s Institutes. From what I’ve read of your stuff here it is clear that you have not comprehended what you have read of him. Nor Bullinger, for that matter

Please, give me a straightforward identification of who you are, where you are, what your church affiliation is, etc. Your behavior so far strongly suggests that you are heretics, wolves, troublers set on destroying those for whom Christ died. I’m very eager to know and believe otherwise. Your answers do not give that encouragement.

      • You ask for water and we give you sweet wine. You ask for a serpent and we give you a fish. You ask for a stone and we give you bread. You ask burlap and we give you fine muslin.

If one willfully shuts one’s eyes, then they cannot see. If one willfully covers one’s ears, then they cannot hear. This is the power of the lupine humanity.

If you would like to dispute our teachings, orations, and interpretations, then you are free to do so. We believe there is much substantial material to reflect on and discuss here. We welcome the interaction.

      • Reed Here says:

You give me wine? Like the wine of the harlot by which the world is destroyed? (Rev 18:3, ff.)

Seriously James “deep purpose” Bathouprothes, I am listening and paying sincere attention. How can one hear unless the Spirit will it? Why condemn me as lupus? Why not have mercy on me?

What is your church affiliation? If your doctrine is pure and undefiled, why do you hide it under layers of esoteric formulations? (Eph 5:11-12). Surely this is not the way of the Master who came as a light to the world, who spoke plainly (unlike those who dissembled).

Why do you hide behind non de plumes? Why will you not reveal your church affiliation? Why will you not explain where you learned your peculiar doctrines – doctrines never found in Orthodox Christianity form the beginning?

I’m giving you interaction. You’re not responding.

      • After some discussion and reflection, we believe your words testify that our teachings, orations, and interpretations are not as the wine of the harlot. The wine of the harlot is easily consumed. All the nations desire it in order that they may be worked into a frenzy of evil. We say put off the flesh! Deny its passions! Resist lupine visions. One should not indulge the flesh lest their belly split open and its contents spill out for all the world to see.

Because you resist our teachings, orations, and interpretations, it is clear that our words are not easily consumed. They are not desirable. Indeed, they are difficult teachings. This is a point that Johannes will expound on in the coming days.

And as he has stated, “Our home is within the church of Yeshua the Messiah. His church–in both its visible and invisible forms–has been called, gathered, and sent by the Holy Ghost, the Dove, yonah. It is knit together by an eros-love mediated by the trans-temporal, trans-spatial Spirit of the Christos-Messiah, that same Holy Ghost which doth war against the inner Lupus.”

Again, “A nom de plume, when used properly, serves not to mask authorship, but rather to mitigate against divers temptations of pride, which goeth before the Fall.”

Let the eyes and ears of the reader be laid open. And if our teachings and interpretations are false, then we humbly desire that our error be exposed.

  7. Reed Here says:

You are dissembling and evasive. You will not answer simple questions with any straightforwardness. Such behavior is consistent with the what the Bible says is the source of all deceptiveness, Lucifer (Light Bringer). I do not say this rashly or with rancor. Rather I write with some sadness.

I do not resist your teachings. You veil them. They are not difficult. They are nonsense. Show one place in the history of the Church where your teachings are expressly repeated. You cannot. Yours is a novel religion. In this sense you are no different than every other heretic who pops up proclaiming that they have the latest and best (which is actually the original message which no one else figured out since Jesus and the Apostles left the scene). Lies.

    Meanwhile God’s truth still abides.

Thanks for the conversation. If you wish to drop the disingenuous behavior I’d be glad to talk with you.

    • We condemn no man, but if you are condemned, it is by the power of the Lupus-Cain that dwells in the deepest crevices within the inner prison. If one holds a mirror to the soul, there they will see the eyes of the lupine humanity gazing haggardly back. This face is the image impressed upon the mask that binds the soul.

  8. Johannes Anti-Hominem says:

The light of salvation shines even in the darkness of Cain’s lupine habitation!

Praise be unto the LORD who dwells in Zion!
