Theological Proposition 2.1

“The shepherd drives the wolf from the sheep’s throat, for which the sheep thanks the shepherd as a liberator, while the wolf denounces him for the same act as the destroyer of liberty, especially as the sheep was a black one.” – Abraham Lincoln, Address at a Sanitary Fair in Baltimore, Maryland, 18 April 1864.

“And he removed that day the he-goats that were ringstreaked and spotted, and all the she-goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the black ones among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.” – Genesis 30:35, ASV.

An apostle is one who offers both milk and meat. The milky teaching tells us that Christ is our liberator. But the meaty teaching instructs us concerning what kind of liberator Christ is.
